Creating your first project

Start a new project from your dashboard and Endra Studio sets up a manuscript, ready to write.

Every manuscript in Endra Studio lives inside a project. A project holds your chapters, characters, notes, and plot together, so this is the first thing you’ll set up.

The New Project dialog, choosing between a blank project and The Great Gatsby example.

Create a new project

  1. From your dashboard, select New Project.
  2. Give it a name and, optionally, a short description.
  3. Select Create. You’ll land on the project home page, ready to start your first chapter.

Try it with an example project first

If you’d rather explore before committing to your own manuscript, choose Example in the new project dialog to create a copy of The Great Gatsby, a fully built-out project with chapters, characters, and a plot board already in place. It’s a safe way to click around every feature without touching your own work, and you can delete it any time once you’re done.

What’s next

Once your project exists, The Studio tour walks through the sidebar and project home so you know where everything lives before you start organizing chapters, sections, and scenes.
