Roles explained

Owner, collaborator, and reviewer control what someone can do in a shared project.

Every project has exactly one owner, and any number of collaborators or reviewers.

Owner

Full access: create, edit, and delete anything in the project, invite or remove other people, and change their roles. Only the person who created the project holds this role.

Collaborator

Read and write access to the project’s content: a co-author who can write chapters, edit characters, and use the Plot Board alongside the owner.

Reviewer

Access intended for feedback rather than direct edits. A reviewer can read the project and add comments, which makes this role a good fit for beta readers or editors giving notes without writing in the manuscript themselves.

Changing a role

The owner can change anyone’s role at any time from the Collaborators section, without needing to remove and re-invite them.
